2024 Summer Crochet/Knitting Camp Registration Open.
CROCHET/LOOM KNITTING FOR BEGINNERS
Learning the art of crochet or loom knitting not only ignites creativity, but also improves fine motor skills, enhances focus and concentration, and helps boost self-esteem and self-confidence. This camp seeks to teach the basics of crochet or loom knitting starting with chain stitch and single crochet for crocheters and knit and purl for loom knitters. Eventually, participants will learn to use patterns and new skills to venture out and create their own designs. The course is designed for beginners who have never crocheted or have limited experience.
We will also do an art project.
Dates: May 27th - June 14th,2024
Age : 1st Grade and above
Time: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Double Crochet –It is one of the most basic and useful stitches in crochet to build on top of chains.

Double crochet or (DC)
Step 1: Make a slip knot and chain 10
Step 2: Yarn over the hook(yo) from back to front.
Step 3: Insert your crochet hook into the next chain.Yarn over the hook(yo) and pull it through the loop on your hook. You will now have three(3) loops on your hook.
Step 4: Yarn over the hook(yo) and pull it through the first two(2) loops on your hook. You will have two(2) loops on the hook
Step 5: Yarn over the hook(yo) and pull it through the last two(2) loops on your hook.
You have completed one (1) double crochet(dc) stitch. There should be one(1) loop left on your hook.
